Licensed Fire Protection Engineer Wanted

Candidate must be self-motivated, driven, possess strong attention to detail, have the ability to multi-task ongoing projects, and have a strong sense of teamwork. Skills should include experience with fire protection systems, building codes and standards, and general construction. Primary responsibilities of the position will be the review and approval of fire sprinkler design drawings created by the in-house design staff.

 

Other responsibilities of the position shall include but may not be limited to:

  • Offer code analysis/alternative engineering options to estimators during the bid process
  • Provide support to the design department by assisting on site surveys, attending meetings, water supply flow tests, etc.
  • Building professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fire protection engineering or Bachelor’s degree in another discipline with 3-5 years of fire protection engineering experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience as a licensed PE required.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Missouri. Additional registration in Illinois preferred but not required at this time.
  • Experience with fire protection design software preferred but not required
  • Experience with Client Communication 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision with taking ownership of work
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required
